i think i overstocked my tank ENORMOUSLY!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am in this exact same situation as you and just made a thread about it last night. Same thing: upgraded to a 20 gallon, got excited, bought a lot of fish, used the 10 gallons of cycled water from my other tank, didn't cycle the tank properly, got freaked out and came to the Monster Fish forum for help, lol. Hilarious.

What I did: I bought a AquaClear 50 at the suggestion of some people here. Put that on the tank along with my old filter from the 10 gallon for bacteria. Got my fingers crossed. Hoping it works. Good luck to you too!

When it comes to the cycling of the tank, I'm going to say, unless you're keeping sensitive fish (which you're not), the tank will be fine. As for filtration, it would be good to get a more powerful filter like an AC70.

btw i brought my water in to the shop to be tested and they say that the water is fine. and sorry flamenco-t your fish must be nice but they aint my style.

No biggie..

You sounded very new in the hobby...if not, I apologized but this maybe something that will help you in the long run..

This hobby is about patience. The quicker the tank is cycled, the easier for it to crash as well.. Do it right, do it slow..."matured" tank is less likely to have problems.

Try not to rush into things...Whenever you change anything

Good luck
