I think my convict family just got bigger

I had the spare tank laying around, so why not? Haha it literally took 5 days in the tank together before there were eggs. Now my jags get high quality feeders. Hopefully they keep spawning.

So I hear you don't need to feed convict fry, that the parents crush pellets and spit it at them, should I supplement with first bites?

Hows the fry doing? My con laid eggs for the first time 2 days ago. Its kind of hard to see them under the driftwood not sure how many there is.

Well it's been a while since I updated, but all fry from the first spawn are happily in the bellies of my Midas grow outs. But, good news, I have what looks to be 200-300 free swimming fry now. I found the trigger. Left the tank be for a while after their fry were gone, and nothing. Did a huge water change using cold tap water, and bam! 300 eggs the next morning.

I always do cold water changes. hopefully that works for me next time because I don't think any of the first batch survived. I would love to see your convicts do you have any pics?
