i think both are males...lol!
2years ago,mine did that too.i have to separate the other male before i got them to breed.and yes,very hard to find the eggs especially in that type of tank set up.better set up a breeding tank for best result.
i followed what terryR teached me.i set up a tank with plastic plants,the grass type designs,and was adviced to use those spikey and hard so that the pair will have a hard time picking/eating the eggs.they are very good at sniffing out the eggs.
