I think we are being persuaded by the wrong people

I am actually glad to get a read on every ones opinions. We are all letting things out that we have sometimes kept locked away. As people I realize we will never all agree and that is what makes the world go around. Sure we get off track a bit now and then big deal I hope this will make us a stronger group.
I would like to clarify why I call the ARA's terrorists it is simple they use everything they can to destroy innocent peoples lives. Some of them have even killed innocent people because what those people did for a living went against what the group was preaching. Since this thread started it has helped me see how many of you feel and that helps bond people together.
I don't thik personaly that as many pets or animals as some might think are harmed each day. Not many parents are happy if their child doesn't look after his pet my parents for sure never were. Raising the price of pets will not give them a better life because rich people can abuse animals just like any one else could.
I definately don't know why any who could care less if people had pets would even want to voice his opinion on a forum about pets.
 
Because some people forget that there is always two sides to an argument. And I just want to remind everyone that there is reason behind people wanting to end the pet trade. Not just people being crazy terrorist.
And maybe it's only a neon dead here or a ball python dead there. But I promise you the way those animals died was not pleasant or "natural".
The amount of dead bettas and hith I saw/seen is completely repulsive. And I don't need your opinion for that to be true.

I'd do it every time in the future too. I have 4 sisters and 4 nieces! Wondering why you pressed charges on the drunk idiot? If you've kept fish or any pets, at least one has died in your care. Hypocrite.This thread takes the cake. And yes I beat a dude good for kicking my pit. When the apocalypse happens, I call dibs on kitty Kat flesh for my wife, my fish, turtle and future dogs.
Even the spca wants to ban pet ownership/companionship. Techies and celebrities would have us live all alone like them to be as miserable as them. Only good thing about peta is the hot nude protesting idiots making fools of themselves. Love and peace. Hahahaha time to go choke my chicken

Ok now we are getting some where and we should be civil to one another so I am sorry for my remarks. Yes there are two sides to every story and some where in the middle lies the truth. Personally I think helping these people anducating them with their purchase would go a long way. Yes there will always be people that just don't care and you can't fix that. How ever wishing the end of the pet trade would ruin 1000's of peoples lives. Some people evn have pets instead of children that would extremely harsh to them.

I know better than most exactly where these fish come from. Most of the fish we keep aren't from in rivers. They're born in a box, bred in a box and live their days out in a box. Unless you're referring to wc fish, which is different. The pet industry is completely trash. You know how many people I had to refund because they killed their animal? A lot. And the majority of pet owners are cruel to animals. I don't know if I should start with the countless amount of hith oscars I euthanized or the amount of bettas I saw returned on the miserable cups they where sold in. Or maybe the amount vast amount of guinea pigs that were donated that had their finger nails digger by into their palms. Or maybe the people that refuse to get their dogs vaccinated as puppies then come to store looking for help. Then because they don't want fork out the money for a vet they get to watch their puppies die slow and incredibly painful deaths.
Don't even get me started on the employees. All levels of employees within that business including the owners. Complete trash.
And the source is to blame just as much as the purchaser.
And then you wonder why these "crazy terrorist" are against pet ownership? I don't know what's more crazy. Being ok with what I just wrote or being so against it that you feel ending the pet trade as a solution to this problem.
It's easy to criticize someone perspective when you can't see things from their perspective.

Wasnt aimed at you but since you felt the need.... you worked in a pet shop...own pets but want to end the pet trade ? Ok your entitled to your opinion ...i disagree

So you never made mistakes in this hobby ? You onw dogs dont you ? I just dont understand but thats cool.

wild bill, you've put out some great threads in the past (unlike me) but part of me wonders if you are peta. That's how the terrorist work- infiltrate debate and divide.
On another note: some people should not have any pets and some should do serious time for what they do with pets. Ask Michael Vick. Just my opinion, anyone who fight pits should be fill in the blank! Taking the loyalty and love of such a magnificent creature and treating IT like that. Ain't manly or human ly to me.

I've learned in the past that arguing with ehhh leads to him grabbing at straws. How about instead of wishing the end of the pet trade, you gracefully bow out? The sense of entitlement is over 9000.

It's like I know I'm a human trafficker and pimp, I just can't help myself but if it ends after me, I'm cool with it.

Well the first one should be obvious. If you haven't noticed I can be a bit of an "A" hole at times, and I live in a country where violence against women is a "big no no". Of course I used my gender v his to press charges that the cat couldn't press. I didn't even try getting him done for animal cruelty, because I knew that the punishment for hospitalizing a young woman is worse than hurting a cat so, screw him.

And for the second one, yes I have. I've had a few of fish die prematurely (I'm assuming this is what you were reffering to) in my care, and MY mistakes are one of the biggest reasons that I would love to see first time pet owners a little more educated on their animals. I messed up, its my fault those fish died early, and had I been more educated on the topic they would probably still be alive. If the guy at the LFS had bothered to explain how to keep fish properly, or even referred me to a place like this forum, those mistakes probably wouldn't have been made, and those lives wouldn't have been lost in such a horrible way. I never said I was perfect, if anything my imperfections are what drive me to try and educate others.

I don't expect you to understand you've never been in my shoes. And I know that you and I have different opinions when it comes to keeping fish.
Working at that pet store completely changed my opinion on how readily available animal should be made to the public.
