alright thanks. i feel a little better, right now my africans are waving their pectorals quick, everybodys breathing quickly actualy, only the devil and oopu seem to be chillin...

i shud start on it.

do 75% water changes 4-5 days in a row and you will be fine. when you do them fill it back up by spraying into the sand and pull some back out each time. it will get all contaminants out.

Cichlids are pretty hardy fish. How is their behavior? How are their colors? How do they look? If they're fine i say just keep doing partial water changes daily till you dont feel this "sticky" feeling anymore.

i told you to put tester fishies in a smaller tank with the sand :(

though id hate for the truth to come out, the only smaller tank i have right now is the hospital 10 gal tank with my beloved tiger oscar and some comet company.

the oscar is my favorite, so when i weighed it out i thought it would be best risking it with my other fish that i spent no money at all to obtain, though i love them all, i love oscar the most and made the choice. nothing against your suggestion though, sorry bout that. :(

throwing the threat of salt at my already sick oscar didnt look to awesome.

why not put the fish in the bucket u used to get the sand? Throw a feeder or two and an air hose. A little late but would have worked.

I got my sand from a beach in san diego.....I rinsed it out for like 30 mins......when i put it into the tank i did a 50 percent water change....just do a couple of water changes.....put your fish in a sepereate tank....a red devil, convict, and two africans are two much for a 30g

im pretty sure its illegal to take sand from any beach in the US

Why are you leaving the sand in the tank in the first place if you think it's harming your fish? It vaccuums our pretty easily. Call me crazy, but it seems like the logical solution to not harming your fish.

le patron- yea well this is california!
