I wanna overfilter my tank

my situation is lousy. the hopeless specs :
  • college student working full time to pay for education
  • lives in 2nd floor apartment where landlord forbids aquariums over 20 gallons- she says she gets scared seeing that much weight on the floor despite me trying to persude her otherwise.
  • limited space- could swing a 4' aquarium, but it would be a stretch. hiding it from her would be hard, but doable i guess if i put my mind to it.
it just plain vanilla sucks. not even french vanilla here, just plain old vanilla!
i tell myself:
"it could be alot worse john, alot worse"-samuel jackson in jurassic park

i mean, i have food, water, shelter, a job, and are trying to get that bs (:D) degree in chemistry.
i got a 14 gallon tank now and even that was trouble when i got it.

so how can i overfilter this tank. i got a convict and a pleco. yea, i know, i know, the catfish gets too big, im a fish abuser, i should be arrested for animal cruelty, blah blah, blah.

so how would you overfilter my tank? cmon, lets have fun!

i thought about a diy wet dry, but i'm afraid my landlord would have a heart attack if she sees me with two tanks stacked on top of each other.
 
Take a $50, a $20 and a $5, light them on fire and enjoy the pretty colors.

You've accomplished the same task as over-filtering your tank.

it would be pretty. but i think id rather blow them presidents on a stripper than a torch!:naughty:
 
I was being politically correct :p I concur about the strippers, much better way to waste $75 and have nothing to show for it.

lol.... +2 on the AC70.... Depending on how much space you have in the back of the tank I'd go with an AC110 on like medium flow, that'd give you like 20x turn over which is pretty good just on like 60% power... on 100% it'll be like 30x turnover...

It's really just a pissing contest about putting the biggest filter possible so:

AC70
AC110
Rena XP2 or 3....

How much money do you have?
 
Yah ,just go across the whole back with hang on filters..Then you cound do a canister filter with hoses running to and from the tank if theres any space between filters..
 
If you picked up 3 or 4 FX5's you could make it a river tank, just line up all the intakes on one side and the returns on the other..
