Eheim 2217, make the holes on the spray bar bigger and keep it submerged.

The flow won't kill your fish and you can stuff the crap out of the canister with substrat.

lol @ AC70 and AC110.. even at a low flow the fish will be twirled around..

I had an Ac70 on a 20g long and at low it was blowing the fish all around.

link please

Why the heck is the landlord in your apt so often?! Unless its your mom, tell her to stay the heck out of the space you pay her for! They have rules about that crap down here in Texas...

Anyway, +1 on the AC70.

she's the "handyman" too. what can i say, she "fixes" things but they break just a few weeks later. its actually sorta funny. her ass better not come in when i'm not home. i got the cameras on then plus a few booby traps.

thats odd. I have run the same thing and had no issues even on high flow.

perhaps your water level was down a bit (that makes it more like a waterfall and fish that go under can get 'wooshed' downward.

I kept my water level topped up and had no issues.

Buy a 20 gallon long it has good dimensions for such a small tank. Id say that would be better than just buying a huge filter. Then if you have money left over grab an AC50 and add it to your existing filtration. just my .02

Very well said a 14 gallon is not even big enough for the fish you have a 20 gallon long will be much better. You have the money to overfilter the 14 so instead of doing that buy a bigger tank for the fish. That should be the first rule in this hobby is making your fish as happy as you can not how much filtration can I put on my tank that houses fish that are to small for it.

Not I... I put the AC300(70) on the 20L and it made too much current even at low...

I have an AC20 and AC30 i think on it now.. sponges and bio-max...

I put the AC300(70) On a 40g that i keep my giant bumblebees in and that is on low so it doesn't kick up the muddy bottom...

I was looking for the AC70's for $20... but got no good replies.. just links to the AC70 priced at $53.99 which i already knew.....

AC70 motor and impeller run $25...

Found the marketplace link for the $19.99 had to call because the site link isn't working.

lol really love that. what u doing upgrading filter then getting bigger tank later

pretty much yea.

good thoughts everyone, they gave me a good chuckle!

ive seen the 10,000 gallon tank and cement 2500 gallon aquarium links. and i have 14 gallons.... but hey, everthing starts small and well, i am at 14 gallons now, but later, o yea, def. much bigger. i don't think i could do smaller!

i suppose a fluval fx5 would'nt be too bad, lol!! the fish would at least get their exercise.

yea, i might add a simple filterr to the tank, maybe a whisper 60.
