so, im sitting there in my living room with some buddies and we where sayin how cool it would be to have a monkey. like a little attack monkey.

how cool would it be to come home and have a monkey in your house? it'd be even cooler to have one that knows karate and can kick ur *** if it wanted to:D

so...i really want a monkey. not a small tiny little pathetic monkey, a big monkey. so i can go buy it clothes from the store. dress it up all gangster, or Bro

any ideas what kind of monkey would work? i could dedicate a bedroom to it, and the backyard. plus feed it all the food it wants. maybe even teach it to do water changes or atleast feed my fish :naughty:

Trust me the last thing you want is ANY kind of monkey. Dangerous 'pets' that do NOT belong in a home.

The process of owning a monkey as a pet tends to go something like this:

"Aww...who's a itty bitty baby? Come on ickle monkey, we'll be best friends..."

*A few years later, puberty happens*

"Aww...look which vicious son of a ***** is getting euthanized"

Seriously, monkeys don't make good pets. I'm not sure if you were just posting this as a joke after watching Dane Cook, or whether you genuinely want one, but either way, enjoy the following site:

haha, no i really WANTED one. me and Dane where talkin about it though.

i saw that sight like 5 mins after i posted this and figuered a monkey is a bad idea... i think ill stick with a dog;) boxer to be exact.

I'm going to add this thread, to the "threads i wish not to see on MFK". Primates are for serious keepers who know what they are doing and understand what they are getting into, and can care for it properly. I don't think you fit the bill mate.

Were any mind-altering substances being used at the time this convo took place? ;)

You are far better off having a human child as far the amount of time and attention needed over the long term. Primates do NOT make good pets.

Primates = Horrible Pets. I meen, if your an expierenced person and have worked with primates then I dont see anything wrong with it as long as you take the proper steps to keeping a primate in your home, but most of the time an average person living on an average income really doesnt have the time/money to dedicate to a primate.

Sugar gliders are a cool alternative to primates though. You could maybe put barbie clothes on it.

Wouldn't it be cool if the monkey was driving the van?

One, they DO make horrible pets.

Two, your wish for it to do all kinds of attack karate things WILL happen, TO YOU. And it WILL end up being put down.

Even zookeepers and other experienced primate caretakers have major issues keeping any sort of primate - even (if not especially,) the small ones.
