I'm calling bull**** on this one. I don't believe for a second you have ever owned any kind of primate. Know why? I honestly don't think such an animal would last too long in a household where your mom made you get rid of your Nile monitor because it bit your sister. Care to elaborate on that one? I would like to see pics of said spider monkey, but I'm not holding my breath.

Stuff like this is why I support a license system for ALL animals. There are a lot of people out there that can keep primates in captivity in their own home, but they take steps beyond what most people would say is necessary. I think davo might know what I am talking about, since I have seen a lot of British monkey keepers devoting their entire life to them.

Seriously, I think every country need to enforce a license system and inspection routines in place to ensure that the animals are safe for humans, and are not mistreated. Especially when many people are not fit to keep even a dog, let alone a mouse, and when most people are unaware of their exotic pets' needs.

I don't agree with bans and restrictions on animals, when there is a much more efficient way to do things. However this is from a guy who believe in both complete economic AND social freedoms.

Monkeys are something I believe should be kept in the same numbers a group or colony might be in the wild, they are so sociable. For your average person they are simply too much work, I had a good friend who bred tamarins, and the amount of work breeding them, and keeping them in groups... it was unreal.

I witnessed an adult male western lowland gorilla "punch" a female over a piece of fruit, and it is honestly the most powerful thing I've ever seen. I think it would have literally gone through me. Just awesome. Don't look 'em LC, you can't keep 'em lol.

Well I know he looks for stuff around the house to feed his animals and I know hot dogs were brought up.. I think it was for a monitor.. but so many herps I forget which it was about..
