You should expect this to happen. Increased heat also increases speed of lifecycle thereby reproducing more parasites.

I used a tablespoon per 5g as well. Aros will tolerate salt temporarily. Treatment must be done for 14 days minimum to make sure all parasites are eradicated.

30 degrees Celsius should be sufficient enough.

Meds are usually your last resort. Malachite green will be fine but it does also kill the beneficial bacteria responsible for the nitrogen cycle so you will need to watch your water parameters regularly as arowanas are prone to cloudy eyes when water quality deteriorates.
thanks Lupin.. great advice..

Thanks my friend for the solid advice, I appreciate someone finally voicing a lil experience on this particular subject. I was pretty sure that I had adjusted the dosage and temp pretty well but a little reassurance goes a long way. This is my first attempt at arowana, and It's already a bit frustrating. I was afraid if I lost this one I wouldnt want to try again. Not to mention my wife probably wouldnt want me to either. So thanks again folks, without the knowledge on this site and the people who are here, I would have lost way too many fish over the last few months...

well it seems we may have began a downward spiral today, he stopped eating and has become rather lethargic...

i did not want to hear this, but it could be the heat is making him sluggish, and he ate yesterday so lets not get negative... how is the ICK on him...more?

not particularly more he's just showing more signs of stress ie, lounging on the substrate or constantly swimming against the glass. The high temps should trigger feeding because of the higher metabolism. By no means did I even dream of giving up I just dont want to stress the lil guy any more with more changes.

well i quess the whole process in general has his appetite weaning.. but try again later... and hopefully you will see him better... he maybe uncomfortable with itching etc or however that horrid stuff makes them feel... i only had it once .. never want it again.. it is such a long process to go through.. i feel so bad for him..how is the other little guy???

I sold the other one for fear that this one was gonna stress him to death, the guy called me 24 hours after getting him home and said he wouldnt eat, and I had to remind him of the convo we had before I bagged him up about feeding and care. He had the other guy eating and showing no signs of stress this morning. I guess I will always remember him as the lil guy that "got" away. Thought I mentioned sellin him somewhere in our convo.

yes you did.
So the little guy is doing good and not showing ICK and eating.. wow thats good.. even though the big guy picked on the little guy the big guy was the one going through the stress because he wanted the little guy out of his space.. or maybe he was thinking the little guy was going to get him... any way glad to hear he is doing good and hope this big guy will too.

PM replied to, one more thing though did you increase the areation, adding an airstone is nescessary, when you raise the temp there is less oxygen in the water.
