Terribly sorry about your loss, but its not IBD. IBD "stargazing" is normally traced by breeders at the snakes birth. Seeing that she had a thick black fluid coming out of her, If she was blowign snot bubbles, had labored breathing and whezed when she breathed she very well could have had a massive respiratory infection, which was (if caught early) reversable with Batril.

there is no way it was a repiratory infection. No labored breathing or mucous. I generally know what signs to look for with a medical problem but this time, I am clueless because there were no symptoms.

Stargazing is caused by a myriad of different things, and it doesn't start from "Birth"

And Baytril now-a-days works about as well as a bag of Saline for URI's......

Ever heard of a Lower Respiratory Infection? Even with some URI's, you may not get symptoms before death........

Baytril is useful....just not for reptiles... does more harm than good... especially when vets want to prescribe it for every thing under the sun -_-

i like the name by the way. if i get my own (we're going to austin soon, theres a shop there that has some stunning babies for $90 each) i might name it after her.
