ID please?

So this guy was on the porch this afternoon when I got up. He was in a Styrofoam cooler wrapped in duct tape. About 10in long (eye ballin it) Don't know a dam thing about him. (Other than its a chiclid... I'm only a little bit dumb)

Got him in a 60g quarentine right now and started on the QT basics. The water was really cold by the time I found him and he was just laying on his side for a while. Seems to be more comfortable now.

It definitely looks like a texas cichlid hybrid, however I could be wrong so someone do feel free to correct me if need be. Despite it possibly being a hybrid it does look quite neato.

I'm guessing it's a male because it's anal fin is pointed, but I'm not 100% sure on that so please correct me if I'm wrong

I'm just tired of surprises. There was a bucket hung on the fence a few days ago with a common pleco and a pacu in it. Didn't find it in time and they were both dead.
