I understand your not a rescue lol it’s nice that you help the ones you can and humanely euthanize the ones you cannot. They are beautiful and when I come across a really exceptional individual I will make some calls to see if I can find a place for it but its rare that my local connections have a spot. More rarely, I will get something like RTC or Shovel nose and Im just not equiped to deal with a fish their size on a long term (especially now that I'm having to rebuild all my in ground ponds). I do try to find a place for them but often come up empty. I hate that part of this hobby.
This fish will get a home no doubt. My friend Mat (the Oscar nut) was over yesterday to help plumb some filters and says he calls dibs lol. He thinks its female and midas/texas x. It's doing alot of flashing right now tho so certianly isnt ready for a new home yet. Going to pull it this afternoon and get scrapings for the scope.
Y'all do know I'm not intentionally a rescue right? Lol my main focus has always been koi and GF. Check out some fish I just ordered to replace some of the stock I lostView attachment 1343927 View attachment 1343928 View attachment 1343929
I think you are doing more than some would! And you know your limits.
Also, love love love the new Goldie’s! I quite enjoy Goldie’s and koi but don’t have room to house more than a couple of fancy’s. That ranchu is a stunner!
