I hate to be the one to say this but it is a BAD idea to release these fish back to the wild.
1.) it may be illegal, check your state regulations, in many states it is illegal to move captive fish from one water shed to another with out a permit
2.) you could introduce a disease into a local fish population, even a privately owned pond and kill thousands of fish!!
you have 3 real options here:
1.) try and give them away, post on this and other web sights, someone out there may be chomping at the bit for one of these fish.
2.) Keep the fish and enjoy! a full grown bluegill is spectacular (these are not full grown by a long shot, they look to be 6"-8" long, they get to 12" or larger), in a very short time they will eat pellet food (you should give them worms, crickets, and other frozen foods about once a week or so) in about 6 weeks or so they will be rushing to the front glass begging for food. I think you may have 4 fish here? I could be wrong but i think that they would be OK in a 100 gal set up or you could pair them off in 55 gal or 75 gal set ups, according to your profile you have a 180 gal tank, that would work great for 4 bluegill in 6 months those fish would look incredible.

3.) your third choice is too euthanize them, it sucks but most of us have had to do it. place them in a zip-lock bag and put them in the freezer. fish are cold blooded and their metabolism will just shut down after the temp drops below a certain degree

How would i introduce a disease into the local fish population? the water is from the lake, they havent been exposed to any of my other fish, and they will be going into the same lake they came from. Ive only had them a few days.

If you kill these fish instead of releasing them, it will not have any effect on the fish population.
You risk no exotic diseases being introduced by not releasing them.
When you put a fish in a tank, you have a responsibility to keep it for it's life, or until you end it's life.
Your fish PROBABLY pose no threat, but in the future do not keep fish you can't or won't care for.
