ID this Cool looking oscar?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hiding in a corner means the other oscar or other fish in the tank has claimed the other parts of the tank, and is allowing the new guy just that small space
There’s no bullying, I’ve tried to hide, or even put my phone on record and leave the room and. They simply don’t bother eachother.

I have like 3 hideouts and a few fake plants, but neither of them like to hide in them lol

Put in a divider. If the albino starts eating immediately you have your answer. Cichlids are sharp and often do things when you aren't looking. Otherwise might need to treat for something internal.

I would also turn off the tanks light. This more replicates the wild settings they would be in.

I’ve isolated my red oscar for about a week and a half because he had gotten spooked and crashed so I was treating him, and during that time the platinum didn’t eat so

Substrate, light or dark? Background? Need pic of your whole tank. Is it near traffic or high activity?

Black substrate and black background, 2 Fluval Aquasky 2.0’s in the front of the tank. And 2 Fluval FX6 running on it. As well as 2 heaters set to 77°F. Stocking, red oscar, platinum oscar and albino Senegal that I’m temporary growing out then moving out once bigger. There’s no bullying, no fin nips or missing scales. Red Oscar is like 3 inches and platinum is like 4.5 or 5. Fish tank is in my room, in front of my bed. No high activity, I’m the only one that comes in. And most of the time I’m working 9-12 hours

Nice setup. Bump the temp up to 80. 77 is a bit cool and suppresses appetite. See if it helps.
My ammonia was zero last week and my nitrates were a bit lower as well. It’s probably from all the time I’ve been trying to feed and the food is left uneaten. But these tests are from today he kind of came up to my when I was in front of the tank and glass surfed with my red oscar and I dropped a few pebbles but he didn’t pay any attention to it, my red oscar just ended up eating it. I’ve also bumped up the heaters just now and dropped my bar lights to the lowest settings.
