Love how people come on here looking for advice, get advice and proceed to reject/ignore it because they think they know what they're doing.
When did I reject lol? If you can point it for me. All I said was that rn it’s doing fine for their size, been working out for me, maybe not for others... did I say this was the schedule for the rest of their life? Hmmm, no I do not think so. But sure if you’d like to believe that I want to push others advice away then go ahead. But I love how when people have more experience than others they think they’re superior and brush down on the newbies lmao. And I’m sure you have way more experience than I do but I know for a fact that I have a pretty clear idea. As I said this isn’t my first rodeo nor my 2 or 3rd. And I have 4 other Fish tanks with full of healthy striving fish! And I never came in here asking for advice. I came on here on a different topic and just mentioned what was going on , and I just had these friendly people come and give out their opinions on how to help . So maybe you should think before you speak? Or shall I say read before you type? anyways thanks for your non useful comment? Have lovely day buddy ? and thanks for everyone’s else input, I’m very much appreciative. If it wasn’t for everyone helping each other out then where would we be huh:headbang2

All first class advise here!
You need to up those water changes regardless of what the test kit is showing. I could probably leave my tank for well over a week and they would remain the same and stable but that isn't the point. When you change the water it not only helps reduce the waste and toxic build up but also replenishes minerals and oxygen. I do 30 - 50 % per week. I usually aim to change 100% of the water over a week period. Those nitrates are too high in my eyes and need to be addressed and you should getting zero ammonia at all times. Good luck with it and keep us in the loop on how things are going. Once you have this sorted then Id try the live food option, if that's refused then as I've said previously you'll need to start digging deeper with regards to the cause.

Oh ya, I did like a 60% water change yesterday as soon as I got home. So I’ll test my water tonight to see how it is and do another smaller change in a few days. And to be honest I’m not a huge fan of live feeding but if it’s necessary I’ll do what it takes. Just like with my Beardie , he needs live food in his diet from time to time, I’m not afraid of messing with worms is just that where I get it from. I sometimes feel like they can come with some time of parasite or something. That’s what I’m afraid of. When it comes to fish I try to treat them before feeding lol??. Good thing about my room is that I have 2 windows, 1 is to my back yard and right under that window is the hose! So filling up tanks is a bit easier! Going to Aquatic Expo that’s consign go ATL this upcoming weekend , I’m excited to see what I can buy from there lol! One of the sponsors will be Fluval so maybe I’ll be able to get my hands on a Aquasky sky 2.0 for my 55 gallon for a good price lol.

You can try some food grade freeze dried garlic...fish love stinky stuff. I've got a jar still going strong (literally) after 2 years. I keep it in the fridge. I hand crush some over soaked pellets before I feed...fish go bananas. Freeze died blackworms (soaked) also work. I've yet to have any fish turn away from them, it's like crack. I order from Aquatic Foods, their stuff is top notch. Garlic on most anything gets 'em eating.

You can order red wigglers on amazon...Big Jims has good ones. Farm raised with no pesticides.
