True Texas are a flat gray, with white dots all over, with the black markings you see in this fish.
That's cool and all but I breed texas hybrids. I also don't want to argue because I don't know... but that tex looks like a texas hybrid. The flash could have something to do with why we think its a hybrid, but can you do us(or me) a favor and post a few pics of some pure bred texas cichlids that look like this one? That will back up what your saying better than your posts of just words...
Yep definitely not a JD, but that's ok and I'm female lol. Ended up going over Sunday and brought him home, more gray in person that it was in the pics but still a beautiful fish. Also snagged an Oscar from them as they had 5 Oscars in a 125 with the Tex plus various other fish. When I get home tonight I'll see if I can get some good pics of my new Texas.
