I think I thought of an easier way to explain the confussion amongst the severums being infertile! Okay so everyone (hopefully) know what a blood parrot is. The males are not fertile for some odd reason. Thus you must breed the females with other male compatible specied mates. According to the above stated, its the same case with the severums. I haven't done much research on severums and know nearly nothing about them. So I may be wrong. But, look into my comparison as it might explain the rest

I dont think that 100% true . My brother had a a pair of red severums spawn successfully but that the fry never had a chance with 2 pictus catfish

Hmmm interesting, I've never heard of them successfully spawning and having fry that hatched, but I'm probably wrong. Gives me hope to one day get a pair and have them spawn :)

Yeah they made it to hatching once they hatched it was game on after my convict killed his male sev then the cats ate all the fry before we could move em . I saved like 10 but none made it pasted a month old.

colors are washed out it died about a hour ago. :cry:. my bro doesnt take care of them. he hasnt changed the water in a good year.
