Got this guy in yesterday, he is wild caught from peru and shows some very interesting markings. He has a tail like a castexi which is very common for that area but he has disc markings like I have never seen. What are your guys thoughts?

CastexiXmotoro?

Looks hydrid.

Whod you get him from and how much? Cool ray! Next time you do one of these orders let me know, especially if you are having them shipped to SDF and I will go in on it!

Most rays will get the castexi tail as they get bigger.. Like some motoros and pearls.

Its just soeme crazy mix/cross.

P. sp. peru.....

Similarities in markings with "Mantilla" But lighter. ECZS had one that looked VERY similar to this.

Here's a pic on my Mantilla. Can see some of the markings on the top center are somewhat similar.

Is it for sale? How Much?? I want it :D

PS. I agree with Anders its a hybrid but hey lets call it Mantilla.. now I've seen a Mantilla from Colombia, Peru and Brazil ;) oh and I've seen them fabricated in the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc..

Miguel in Lima tells me that he has only seen this ray 2x in his life.. so I doubt its an actual species

I guess Castexi x Motoro ... or maybe Retic x Motoro (if it came from far northern peru).. because my retics have that salt n' peppa look on the tail just like this one, only without the vertical bars that are a motoro trait..
