I must say planted filtration has definetly been on my brain lately. I for sure plan on experimenting in the future with it! :D

I know this is old but to refresh and stick my 2 cents in I totally agree with algae or plant filtration. I have a salt tank and set up an Algae scrubber and it works awesome. I feed my fish as much as I want an nitrates and phophates are allways near zero and I never change water, just add it and some trace elements.

315 Gallon lake Tanganyika tank. (some will be put into some of my other tanganyikan tanks when they grow on a bit.)

filtration is 3 Fx5's all with uv sterilizers, I'm aware incredibly overstocked but 30% water change daily.
