The picture below demonstrates the jaw crunching power of a Pacu when he starts chewing on things. This is ¼” lead used by sport fishermen and by me to hold the air stone at the bottom of the aquarium. The Pacu chewed up the air stone, lead and air hose; I now have the air supply and air diffusers protected by heavy plastic ABS pipe.

:eek: holy crap, you definately do not want to get in the way of a pacu!
 
that is truly awesome. i always have people asking me if we can take in their beasts they no longer have room for. i wish i knew someone like you in the area willing to adopt these guys.

how is you Hybrid redtail catfish doing? i hope i can see if your redtail doing ok. what do you feed your redtail to keep a bright red tail? what kinda filteration you got? i got a 2200g for my indoor pond. my redtail name's vega, I know how it must feel how it must feel to surgicaly remove that tumor. I had to do that to one of my irridescents sharks.
