If you had an empty 180

I agree, jags are awesome. I had a 30 gal with a jag in it.. outgrew it in less then a year. I had to give it away. For a 180 gallon tank, you can' go wrong with a pair of jags.

I have a Trimac pair and a Convict pair in my 4x2x2 120 gal... The 7" female Trimac approaches the glass and begs like most Cichlids do but hides when I put my hands in the tank... The 11" male Trimac is real laid back, but still curious to people in the room. When I put my hands in the tank he follows me around and if I move fast he "attacks". He's nipped me a bunch of times but has never gotten a good bite. I can assume by looking at his teeth I'd know it if he meant to hurt me.

I'd definately say they are owner interactive... They are definately intelligent Cichlids... They go through a nice evolution in color/appearance and my female gets real dark/bright when breeding...

When the female is ready to lay eggs the male gets extremely aggressive with her. So far she always lays her eggs in a pot tht the male cannot fit into. So no babies yet (but that doesn't bother me).

I've really enjoyed my Trimacs... so I thought I'd share a little...

I've never really kept Parachromis... so I can't make a direct comparison...

two big frontosa would look amazing imo. you could probably keep more than two though, but they do get really big

hmm. i actually think they might be agressive towards each other if you had two 12" inchers in a tank together. im not an expert though, but im sure others will know
