If you had to be a fish, what would it be?

I want to be the goliath grouper at the Ga. aquarium. Pretty safe environment,6.3 million gallons of easy living, and you get to watch the most bizarre, unpredictable creatures on the planet all day long.

If that was the case, I'd want to be a giant squid

True, but I like to think of it as an assisted living community. Since I will probably die before I retire in this life, it sounds kind of nice and relaxing.

Then beginners buy and kill you.
I couldn't even keep fancy guppies alive, they all died of bloat or something else. they are weak!

I would be a mudskipper, crawl around on land and do this:

An ocean sunfish or a coelacanth appeals but also I have seen these wonderful video's on YouTube of giant snakeheads living wild in a beautiful sunlit lake and it looks so nice, just gracefully cruising in and out of the plants, I'd love to try that.

I'd be a Sawfish because having a saw on your face would be pretty lit.
In all seriousness it'd be because of how they can use the rostrum: It can detect food and be used as mode of defense or stunning prey. They are also a euryhaline fish, meaning they can live in fresh, salt or brackish water.
