mine is 10 inches and hasn't laid any eggs or is cause I don't have another oscar in the tank?

Well usually you need a group of fish for females to lay eggs. Some females might lay eggs without a male though. If it's 10 inches you can vent it.

interesting on the vent, since I want to get a 270 gallon viewing window pond. What other SA's can I actually put with my current cichlids I plan on keeping?

i agree. keep fish that you enjoy keeping.

I second (or third!) this. What do you enjoy? I consistently underwhelm people by the fish I love to keep, which at first surprised me, but I grew to understand. Keep fish for you first.

I think the only bad thing about keeping fish for others to enjoy is that you are the one that has to care for and keep these fish. You should keep fish that you enjoy even if they are cichlids commonly found in stores. Having a show tank of incredible fish is only really incredible if you can stand looking at them every day.

+1 for sure. I had a tank with a lot of nice looking, impressive fish and was just bored. I personally like fish with personality that respond to me, but thats just me.

To the OP, just keep the fish that you like and you will truly enjoy your tank!!:D

Well, the thoughts just been floating in the air,I am stuck taking care of 4 Oscars total :/,which three are my brother's though. Then again mine has a better personality than all three of his combined,so no reason to get rid of the Tiger O.The ones I don't think will make it in the near future is the Firemouth and black convict.Who knows I may find something else I will like, maybe a black belt, argentea,or a polleni for my 125.

4 adult Oscars in a 125 won't leave room for much if anything else

I don't have the 4 oscars in my tank,I just have the 1,which is mine.My brother has his own tank set up.I am just trying to get him to reduce his stock, which he isn't listening at all.
