Okay thank you they say they are able to get them in and I am really worried they are either being misinformed or they are telling the truth so I will be contacting the wildlife department soon the report them
Seems to me that you have some kind of grudge against this shop as you are not even aware of which fish are legal or not in the area yet you seem so eager to call the authorities on them.

No I really like this shop it's one of my favorites it's just that they are not educated on what they can receive but the vendors they are getting their fish from are telling them they can get all of these species. I legitimately thought that wolffish were illegal in the state of Ohio and I wanted to make sure I also looked up red arowana to make sure it wasn't Asian and I still wasn't sure so that is why I have asked this community that should be backing me up on this because this pet store is selling illegal fish to people who might not realize they are illegal. This forum is teaching people and not getting mad at other people for trying to take care of the fish community in their area. I do not want this to be going on in my state. I want this vendor to get in trouble because he is obviously getting fish into the United States illegally. So I'm sorry I'm trying to get information about what fish are illegal in my star and my country and I am sorry that I am trying to get this guy in trouble for doing something that is not right but I am happy with what I am going to do. Thank you

Are you speaking to the owner or a misinformed person that just works there?
It is a chain store and I was speaking to the assistant manager who does all of the fish ordering and it seems like she doesn't know a whole lot about fish I only go there because they have a really good variety of fish but I come here to get information

There is no need for all the apologies if you are happy with what you are doing. You seem to be conftradicting yourself in your post as first you say you really like the shop and tgen a few lines down you go on about how you want the guy to get into trouble.Still, you don't know what is what yet you are poised and ready to take action.
If I had a problem with someone dabbling in shady activity I would be inclined to express my displeasure to the owner and take my business elsewhere rather than attempt to get a shop shut down, possibly getting the owner arrested and preventing him from providing for his family.

It may be a simple case if this manager misunderstands the information on illegal species.
Before I acted I would make sure you know what you're reporting. If you make the mistake of reporting a legal species as illegal not only will you lose a great store but you come out looking like a total ***.

If it's a chain store I would say more than likely your dealing with this one person trying to seem like they can do things others cannot. If the actual management found out this person was claiming to be able to get illegal species they would put a stop to it!
I say speak to the actual manager . Forget about trying to report something.

That's great advice....not to mention you don't know for sure that they are trying to sell you an illegal species. As Oddball Oddball said, rose jardini aros can be called red arowana. Common names can be a confusing mess in this hobby. The fact that it's a chain store in Ohio makes me pretty sure they won't be offering any asian arowanas for sale. Not to mention, even where they are legal they cost thousands of dollars...not something you buy in a chain pet store!

Thank you for your advice I really have been looking up to you in this community and I will listen to you now if they do get some illegal fish into the store what would you recommend me doing
