do what i did. got frusterated so i moved onto dif aspects of the hobby. reptiles!! hence part of the reason for the caiman enclosure. I still have and love my gar, still my passion but the other fish iv had before i just dont have any more

:iagree: Keeping Reptiles isn't a whole lot different than fish, except the only water you change is in a dish. (Unless you keep Caiman:ROFL:) And IMO keeping Herps is more rewarding. Since I started keeping Herps more so than fish, I am a lot more relaxed with the hobby, There's a lot less running around with buckets. And you can't take a fish out of its tank and walk around with it on your shoulder, or take it outside either:grinno: (Well... you can't do that with a Caiman either:ROFL:)

wow i've never had a prob with my social life and fish... if your on a farm and you have to work 8-14 hours a day...then you can start complaining but untill then you gotta suck it up because i live on a farm and i'm not complaining...

It happens to all of us....... at this point I just have more then what I can handle..... I have decided after thinking for a long while that it is best if I down grade... however I will be storing and not selling most of my tanks... I have blown a lot of money too, esp. setting up my salt tank and I relize in the spot in life I am at now it is not wise of me to sepnd but to save, I wish I would have realized that earlier. However I still love all of my fish. I thought about getting rid of everything I am still contemplacent on a few other tanks about selling off, however I do a few tanks I will be keeping for sure. Its one of those things you need to really sit down and think about and make you decsion when you are sure it's what you want.... so you dont regret anything.

i think the bottom line is.... what ever you decide is worth the time and money and work... is what you should weigh your thoughts against... if it gives you joy..keeps you interested and you don't mind the sacrafices and the ups and downs then you are right where you should be...
i know i would have Yacht by now if it wasn't for my horses and vet bills and the hay bills and the horse trailer and more vet bills.. and the sweet feed and vitamin supplements and the tack... and the new barn.... would i trade it for a yacht,.... NO...

not everyone is cut out for this hobby. it's too much work for some, too much money for others. i say give it another shot if you enjoy it but if you're having thoughts like that, it doesn't sound like you do. i got that way at one point when i had 12 tanks running, now i'm down to 4 and am loving the hobby again. gl with what ever you decide.

Heres a tip: if you dont enjoy keeping fish, dont keep them, its really that simple. Other hobbyists arent really interested in this sort of whining. And lol @ reptile keeping, Id rather keep nothing than a live rodent eating snake...

IMO, if you get away with only losing $35, you're doing good so far.

LOL, the traumatic life of a teenager.
