thats where you are wrong, thousands and thousands have been put into trying to keep them in captivity. ever hear of the japanese food fugu? thats what is made out of certain takifugu puffers. it sells very good, and likewise many many people have tried to find a way to keep these captive (not just fish keepers but those looking for big money for resturuants and the like) , but none have succeeded. It is an impossible to keep fish in captivity.

And I say Bullpatty...Nothing is impossible to keep..I know what a damn Fugu is and I do not for one second think it is not capable of being kept..I have little knowledge of this fish but this sounds like a load of crap..Any fish with correct procedure and protocol can be maintained..

well actually i guess u could be right........thinking about it if you had a tank about a few thousand gallons and dripped it from water where they naturally live, meanwhile taking into acount where if the puffer moves to and getting water from that source and continuing on from that.

i guess i do see what you are saying, but how about i just put it as keeping some fish is improbable, very unconvenient and quite frankly ludicrous but prehaps not impossible.

And again I go to if you are not capable just do not keep the fish...It is really an easy concept...Nothing is not capable of being kept it just depends on who is keeping it...

but really who you are has nothing to do with it, its how you take care and keep your fish. i could be a hobo with excellent fish caring skills lol

If you are a Hobo with excellent fish caring skills and have the means to actually keep a fish I'm not one to argue with that..I've not really stated anything different from this..what are you saying here??

I still stand by my words:
No species of fish is 'Not suited' for captivity, there are just some people that should not keep them.

Do your research and only keep what you can keep..

I can assure you I'm not going to keep Fugu puffers as I know nothing of them but I sure as hell will likely get some Atractosteus spatula again some day..And I know very well I can keep them with no issue. Why should others not be able to do so if they have the space and commitment to do so???

What a sorry little sod you are.. you can't give an opinion, state whatever you want, without trying to demean people and to put yourself above them. What a pathetic little lion....
