If you suspect a faulty test kit, before you go and buy a new one just go to a LFS. Most offer free water tests.

i didnt mean test kit chemicals...i meant the ammo lock, and stress zyme, the cycle...all that crap...the test it works

so after taking some suggestions here i cleaned my sponges....did my water changes..primed.. and used all the extra bacteria products...and now im left with my 55 so cloudy i cant see the back glass...and both my ammonias are higher then they were when i first started...so wtf can i do. i bought all new media and foams and carbon...im ready to just start the damn cycle over. i honestly dont know what to do. there is nothing being done wrong. i just dont get it
Confused, did you replace all your media? that post is kind of confusing as it says you cleaned sponges but have all new media? please explain and I will try my best to help you further.

no i just cleaned the sponges. thats it. i did buy all new stuff tho...i have not put it in. i just stocked up thats all.

Wow. Thats all I can say about this thread. Chemicals being thrown in all over the place.

Setup another temp tank to house the fish in but go buy a simple RO/DI unit. Stop with these chemicals, they don't work. You can use the bacteria booster products since I have heard those work. Use those on the temp tank. You can use the Ammonia and Nitrite absorber products available for filters to help control ammonia and nitrite spikes in the temp tank.

Transfer your fish into the temp tank.

Then, on your large tank. START OVER! No more 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% water changes. Remove ALL the water and clean the tank thoroughly. Clean the filter thoroughly.

Set the tank back up using Ro/DI water (With no chemicals). Chemicals uin your day. The Ammo lock is junk and will make matters worse. Chemicals can cloud your tank heavily. Don't use any salts either. There is no point.

Go buy some ammonia from the grocery store and raise the ammonia levels in the new tank to about 3-4ppm and let it cycle naturally. No chemicals at all.

You shouldn't have all these issues and it seems everything has gotten worse as everyone kept telling you to add all these chemicals. They don't work at all.

Keep an eye on the temp tank to make sure ammonia levels don't reach dangerous levels, if so, do a 25% water change to keep them down. Like said earlier, you can also use ammonia/nitrite absorber filter products available at the pet store that are designed for situations like there.

sounds like a good idea...but i do not have a temporary tank to put fish from a 90 gallon and a 55 gallon. its just impossible. my current step is gonna be to give away and sell of eveything.

Do you have room in your 55 for the fish from your 90 gallon? Its only temp so you dont have to follow the rules as to the amount of gallons per fish.

If you can use the 55, change the water. If you can change 100% of the water, than do it. Even if you have to make multiple water changes with RO/DI water

Then get the Ammonia and nitrite absorbent pads at your LFS for your filter just incase the ammonia and nitrite levels decide to spike in the 55. I hear those work pretty good. Buy multiple packs because they only can absorbe so much till they don't work any more. Although, I think I read some where that you can "recharge" them some how .

Then follow what I said earlier and get your other tank back up.

Another option, instead of buying tanks which can get very expensive is to buy large rubber maid tubs as temp "tanks" and trasfer your filtration to the tubs. won't be a nice setup but it should actually keep the stress level down in the fish since they can't see anything outside of the tubs.

my 55 has the same exact problem as the 90 gallon.. haha. in fact the 55 is the really cloudy one...same issues tho
