Hey, look, you can start a thread on that if you want, nothing wrong with a little good ol online arguing, BUT thats not why I started this thread. No one is stoping you from making your own thread, right?

Heck, you can make ten threads about whatever you want. You have your rights to freedom of speech and thought, Im just trying to get advice and opinions on traffic related issues here, not so much on the politics man. We Coo?
 
About 12 years ago my wife was following a friend on the GW Parkway. She got pulled over doing 75mph in a 35mph zone. She was charged w/ reckless driving. She went to court and was slapped w/ a $300 fine. The maximum possible fine and punishment was $5,000 and 30 days jail time.

...well I sat in a corner today and thought about what i did. I guess I broke the law so im gonna get punished, Im still suprised about the possible charges (I thought for speeding Id just have to pay alot of $$ and take a class)

yeah you just gotta love texas, man i wish you all the best, you must be in the military, if so you have my support, i ride motorcycles to and have a tendency to ride way to fast myself, good luck and keep us posted as to your circumstances.
 
Until us lazy americans do something about this government and their wacky laws there just going to get worse. Americans dont stand up, let the gov boss them around so get used to it. NAU read it, learn it, you did it to yourself!

Well, like someone said earlier, atleast they arent chopping off my throttle hand for speeding. I just get confused, because every few months-years I have to move to another state, and dont realize that in different states the laws are enforced differently... But now im scered to got even 5 over cuz I have a record for it now...
 
Everyone knows there is punishment for breaking the law. You break it, you get punished its that simple, it you think its not a fare law, you need to get people to revolt it and push for what they think its right. Instead you got here in IL over 75 is reckless driving, ya F IL. Its well known we do 90 on our highways anyway. Only good thing in this pos state or atleast in my area, plead guilty pay the fine, pay 20$ for driving school and get a 6 month supervision. No tickets in 6months and complete your driving class (4,8hr) it never happened. I dont even dare to show you people a pic of 80% of my tickets and court papers.

If its your first offense I dont see why you would be throwin in jail. Theres ALWAYS a 364 days in jail and 20k fine here, its unlikely you would ever get the max unless you scored multiple felonies.
