I have never really been able to acheive this with my tank. I have also seen crystal clear freshwater tanks at some local fish stores (They seemed to have protein skimmers in them) These tanks look like High Defenition.Do Protein skimmers make a difference in freshwater? My 120 gallon tank will be fairly clear for maybe a day or two, but it always seems to end up cloudy. I don't think I am overfeeding my fish. My filtration includes a Rena XP 3 and an Aquaclear 70 hang on. I was just wondering how I might be able to produce crystal clear water.
What kind of "cloudiness" does your tank have? if its floating particles and stuff, increased mechanical filtration is your best bet.
