I'm going to kill my filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Alright. But I have just thought of another question. The tubes connecting my intake to my canister filter have turned kinda grimy and brown. Does it pay to clean these out?

If you can't stand the look of it or if it is effecting performance, then yeah. I don't clean my filter, no matter how bad it looks, unless the flow slows.

It is possible that feeding has something to do with the cloudiness. I notice that after feeding a couple of tanks get a little cloudy. After 6 or so hours they clear up. How much and how often do you feed your fish, is it live or pellets?

1-xp3 and 1-ac70 seems a Little small for a 120.Ive got a 125 with 3-ac110s and a power head. i also have sand and i raised the intakes to keep sand to a minimum. i Had a clarity problem a wile back and i added more bio filtration.the acs are all bio.and the power head has a home made mechanical filter on it. has been all clear since.good luck......

My glass problem has gotten worse. I can't prevent it from clouding up. Its got this cloudy layer all over it so that I have to wipe it off. On top of that, I still have these small white growths that seem to grow in colonies. They are attached onto the glass, with a part of them sticking out. They sway with the waterflow.. I'm doing weekly water water changes and monitering the amout that my fish are fed. But the growths keep on showing up. Any Idea what's going on?
