I'm through with using buckets!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i use 55 gallon trash cans on wheels for mine. drain all into the can and i have a big powerhead with hose attatchment that goes out to my plants. i water my plants using the poopy water. great fertilizer and lowers my water footprint! recycle! dump your water in planters, gardens, lawn, anything but the drain. but thats just me

Image using bucket for my 260g going take few hours, go home depot get utility submer pump, I got mine for $60 and 1250gph, its came with adaptor to connect to your garden hose, took only 15min for me, and that including siphon graval. GL

I just use a cheap long tube and do siphon old school :naughty:

you have 3,000 posts on MFK and you are STILL using buckets to fill your tanks all I have to say is WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW. You have got some serious dedication and probably some strong arms

I don't understand why buckets bother you. I prep water in 5g water cooler jugs and use 5g pool water buckets for the old water. Sure I lift weights all the time, and am pretty serious about it... but water is only about 8lbs per gallon. If lifting 40lbs 5-10 reps, 1x per week is making you have strong arms, you must have started out really wimpy. Wait till your a Dad, and have to lift a baby carrier with your son in it... then watch your 5ft2 100lb wife do that all day long... I just had a son a month ago if ya can't tell :D

X2... I like buckets, but then again sometimes I go out of my way to make things more inconvenient so more calories get burnt...

Must be some kid who can't lift weights for **** sake

We have an RO system so I keep jugs of RO water handy as well as 5gal buckets and a syphon for vacuuming. I'm old school and I like it that way. I don't feel like adding tap water to replace my tank water w/Chlorine and other chemicals then adding even more chemicals to get my water to the levels I want which is what my RO does anyway.
