I have a pyhon siphon too. I also hav a submersible pump too but that doesnt help me Vacuum the poop thats in the gravel. The pyhon siphon works but i hate wasting water when i use it. Is there a pump out there thats able to clean the gravel w/o messing up the pump b/c sometimes it picks up tiny gravel which may stall the pump. I saw this machine online called "aquarium cleaning machine" but its got mixed reviews. Im wondering if a utility pump (hook it to sipon) from home depot would work.
I had a drain and hot and cold water lines put in the wall behind my 210. When I do water changes, I just put the end of the siphon in the drain to take water out. To fill up I turn the water on and this fills my sump which fills the tank.
I use this method also but I took it one step further, the tank has a drain hard plumbed to the housing drain for any size water change, and has a Tee connection to allow me to hook up the siphon hose to the drain in the event i need to vacuum.

I like the Aqueon brand water changer more than the python. The plastic is better quality and the valve design is much better IMO. The python attachment that goes on the sink faucet needs to be twisted to "close" it to fill the tank... Usually gets your hand wet and is just kind of stupid. Aqueon has a switch up by the faucet you just flip.
