From a resource standpoint it makes more sense to get the supplier not the consumer. In many many cases it is the Supplier that is targeted. Does this how ever make it correct for one to be the end user that makes the demand???

It is still Illegal to possess and obtain these fish and anyone buying them is still a part of the problem and can be prosecuted, jailed and or fined. this is a fact that does not change.

i had a very long talk with one of the defendants in this link.....http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/cac/news/pr2006/125.html

he is planning on doing JAIL time....he still had a beautiful asian aro that the feds saw but didnt have a place for so he was still caring for it !!!

are there any for non-endangered species? like p's in newyork or sh's in the us?

x24 - any what?

Like, that one was for the sale of an endangered species which i could see why that would be a priority, but i have a theory that really the government doesn't give a crap about illegal fish unless they are in the waterways.

i know a person here in texas that got caught trying to sell a piranha, i never got the details but i assume he accidently sold to someone undercover

i've never known anyone to get caught with illegal fish or get caught selling an illegal fish. however i have heard a number of different versions of what happened to the guys in the article johnptc referenced.

i know guys who have their wholesalers license here in socal and ship in FW rays under the guise that they are being sold to people in a state where they are legal. of course they are selling fw rays on the side in ca which is illegal, but they've been doing it for years and don't sell to people that they aren't familiar with or one of their customers is friends with. they'll probably get rolled if they get lazy, but i doubt it.

Considering what you can loose (right to own a gun, possible job options, etc) is it really worth it?

well i myself have never heard of any of this in nebraska......but our game and parks people are pretty strict so i wouldn't be suprised if it did happen.

saying this, if i ever see a snakehead i'm going to buy it.
