I'd lose the BB and Firemouth just cause I like the others more.

I agree, because the firemouth can't hold it's own with these guys and the BB will out grow the tank

I don't believe you can overfiltrate. LOL
The more you turn the water over the better.

i would keep only the blackbelt and festae. everything else is quite commonly available.
grow out these two and you will be ok.
no blood parrots... they look so goofy...

I don't think you're overstocked at all. With enough cover/hiding places, you'll be fine.

If you feel the need to get rid of anything, I'd say:

the firemouth because it isn't in the same aggression league as the Midas, JD, blackbelt, and festae

the blood red parrot because I hate hybrids LOL

My only explanation for that is there must be greater filtration on one tank than another.

I wish it were that simple but most filters don't remove nitrates. Only water changes can do that.

My female festae shows more color everyday. I will get the camera out today and start posting some pics.

How big will my female festae get? How big will she be in a year? She's almost four inches now.
