I've kept several tiger barbs with angelfish before and the barbs never touched the angel's fins. Another tankmate that I had with angels is the serpae tetra, and they would only nip a bit and not cause any major damage.
Incompatable tankmates that will never work. But do anyway (?).

I never play by the rules. because i have i can easidly set up another large tank if it doesnt work out. upto now ive never had any problems never had to seperate anyone. my odd tankmates would have to be :

I forgot about the lionfish I used to have, he had a pet yellow damsel that was one of the original fish I cycled the tank with.
