Good question, as head size is subjective.
The following picture gives an idea of what good head size is to me.

I considered those as okay head size. To my liking, the bigger the head the more I like it. It's what the fish is made for...

the male is always want to have X (unless he have some problem) with the female. If you leave the female into his tank, and the female not ready to spawn, the male may kill the female !
