:) no insult was perceived, even...why wojld you insult me?

I am no expert in cold w fish, but isn't it a tad warm for yours?
 
The nitrates usually stay okay though. Just problems with nitrites.
That is not possible. So something is not allowing your cycle to complete, because all nitrites should convert to nitrates. And if your water has nitites, you should, after a couple of days have nitrates.

How old is the set up?
 
I'm just going off of some biologists' reports on water temperature. The bass has been fine up until now, and he's been in the tank since the first month of tank setup. Eats like a champ and so does the trout. All fish in the tank are pretty active.
 
But something is not running well in there.

As to the rash, i would do a water change.

As to the nitrite / nitrate issue, i would o a thread in the general aquaria discussion, or the iltration/ cycling specialists.

James, i may becompletely off base. I know very little of cold water species

But i would doo what i suggested in my anterior post.
