I like the idea but I would make one suggestion. I would do a smaller power head coming in on the bottom side and then put a bigger power head more towards the top of the thank. This way it will churn some water and still have a little slower movement on the bottom to give the fish a break at times.
Good Idea, check out the pictures below to see how it was set up, one pipe 2 out lets

First of all nice tank! And I think the tank would look nice with a large school of Lemon Tetras accompanied by some Rams Cichlids and some maybe Severums. And of course a school or Corydoras catfish and alot of plants and some black gravel and some Loaches. Oh and some peaceful Knifefish!
I think you missed the obvious post about the actual real volume of this tank, even if it is very long, but thanks for suggestions;) I think plants are going to be a must in this one

Putting a chunk of driftwood and a rock or two, will make for some good cover, just like in a river. Just one inlet near the top and a lower outlet on the opposite end will make for some good back eddies, and still give you some fast water too...
Thought of that, wood and pebbles, see the pictures, it shows how it was setup

First time I have seen a tank like that. Cool. You certainly keep yourself busy!

My first thought when I saw the thickness front to back...WALL TANK!

I have been wanting to do it for awile, that thing looks perfect for it.
My first thought when I saw it, that was until I tried to pick it up, it took 3 of us to get it to where it is now are our walls are all plaster board. When we moved in curtain rails were a challenge:ROFL:
Me too, I never seen one before hence why it came home with me:naughty:

Anyway back to business, believe it or not I've had a little spare time to have a closer look at everything. The wooden hood that I thought would need replacing anyway does, as I broke it, my bad:duh: I didn't like the color anyway;)

It is going to need a major clean up:

Clearly it's been setup as a river tank all it's life(I mean what else would you do with it:nilly:):

One thing I really don't like about it is the filter, just some foam pads that clearly separate the pump/heater chamber from the rest, one it's an ugly way of doing things and 2 there is no bio filtration, so I'm going to have to look at that before it goes into service.

I'm not a fan of the black substrate that's in it, I would rather run a layer of flourite with pebbles and wood on top for the aquascape. As I'm working under the one project at a time guideline, I need to finish the pond first before I can really do anything with it, however I can throw some ideas about and clean it as it's difficult to work on the pond when it's dark:naughty:

9 Female Guppies... 3 males... and wait till it's full :grinno:

or 2 Pairs of Cons... wait half as long LOL :grinno:

Personally I like the river tank Idea ... If I'd do it ... I'd throw in a few types of Loaches... Fun to watch :grinyes:

I do like the idea of having something that will breed easily in this tank as well, so many possibilities:headbang2

Awsome tank, can't wait to see what you come up with.
Me too, if it was as tall again, i'd go with fish at the bottom and reptiles at the top, something the wife has alway wanted, don't think it's tall enough though

Something from left field; section it off and turn it into a Betta barracks. You could probably get four or five (or maybe even six) decent sized compartments in there with plenty of room for each fish to live a long happy life. Aquascape each section individually, or plan one long 'scape that continues on beyond each partition...

The possibilities are endless!!

that has to be the coolest thing ever, i would def think about a wall tank or just on a shelf in th bedroom over the bed would be cool, with a complete natural look, brownish substrate, a long piece of driftwood few piles of rocks and some plants that curl or and float, and some serpae tetras, petricola or 2, and some cardinal tetras and maybe like a albino bushynose lonfin pleco..... that would be my setup atleast..... sorry i stole your tank and set it up this way "dont hate, appreciate.":headbang2
