Take what you said. "DARK SIDE"
Stay away!!! cichlid community tanks is alot more fascinating then any salt tank. If you like salt because of the corals, then you can make a planted tank. The average salt water fish is alot more then fresh, and its more of a hassle maintaining.

and yes... saltwater is for olddddd woman with no teeth and 2 toes.

Is everyone serious? Guys, I keep salt and fresh. Marine tanks are 10x more fascinating than freshwater. The combinations are endless!

Having kept both, its obviously true that salt water can get more expensive, but the exotic and rare freshwater fish can cost as much, if not more then saltwater fish. Even cichlids can get pricey, depending on your local market, size, and type.

I honestly dont think saltwater is that much more work, or at least not enough to make me feel like I have to do some sort of test on the tank every day.

I test my water qaulty every 3-4 days, and stare long and hard at my tank for about 10 minutes a day to see if there is something wrong, and after that it is simply for my amusement.

If you shop around and piece everything together, you can get good equipment for cheap.

I seond an octopus I've always wanted one or a cuddle fish or a nautilus (don't think you could do the last one in a 100 gallon). I've also always wanted those fish with hands I know there are a bunch of different species of them there really freaking neat. There ar a bunch of odd ball ocean faring fish/ invertibrates I would like to keep.

There ae plenty of octos to keep in a 100gal go to tonmo.com And they will help you with every aspect of keeping octos

And how is salt for old woman... I think the older you get the less you do... Like freshwater there is less to do in that... Ok you can plant the tank... well nothing new there or you can leave it with a sand or gravel bottom and put some driftwood in... A salt tank you can add corals live rock and there is way more color involved in salt then fresh. Look at Myteemouse(forgot how to spell name srry) coral they are awsome

mmmmmmmm

I don'k know. . . . ok , maybe its for "old women" but it's salt.

It's somethingdifferent and new and definately interesting. I have two 60" tanks and a 72", all freshwater. I love them so much and wouldn't change them. (1 is planted) But salt is interesting. (So I am bias)

Hell ye, I say do it! At the worst it will just make you want another freshwater tank more. It's a win win.

Very cool website man.

An octo would be awesome but I'd go for the cuttle fish. They are amazing creatures.
