Alright. Here's the deal. I was just let go. Not happy. Whatever. Moving on.

Job was on the assembly line of a local factory and even though it wasn't the ideal job, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be and I was gettin the bills paid. After work, the temp service called and asked if I was at work today. I said yes and they told me that I was no longer needed. Something to do with quality, which confuses me because no one said anything about the quality of my work except to compliment it.

Anywho....Next semester, I would like to do an internship before I graduate. My major is screenwriting with a minor in creative writing. I will graduate in May, with or without the internship. If anyone knows of an angle to get an internship in the entertainment industry, I would be grateful for a nudge. I am currently keeping my eye on sites like Monster and CareerBuilder. I plan to call the local production companies (I believe there are 5 in Minneapolis) to see if they have any available positions.

Anything or anyone else I should try?

Sorry to hear Kelly. Collect unemployment until you find a new job. File for it right away.

Good luck and keep us posted

Not much I can do to help, in Ca and in aerospace. If you want to relocate and completely change fields maybe then...but good luck nonetheless

Can't. I am technically an employee of the temp service and am still employed through them. I was never an employee of the company. :(

Thanks though! :)

That sucks. Maybe try setting up your own business.;)

Ha, I wish! ;) If only it were that easy....

lol, I'll remember that! Thanks!

stay on unemployment and collect free money. also collect welfare too. double dip the system.

If the temp agency's not paying you, you're not employed.

Unless that's MN. Here in Cali I know people who were temps that got let go and are collecting unemployment

How about talking with management at the factory about possibly becoming their employee?
