Introduction and Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks Nic,
i am sure seachem matrix is better, however i already have bio balls and am not concerned with the efficiency because i have soo much. for the auto change i will bypass the ro and di to just use the three stage sediment and carbon block. 20 gpd is not too much water change?

no it should work nice cause you have a small amount of water....

They are SPAL Linear actuators. I bought them about a year ago so I don't remember where they are from. google search will bring up a few dealers.

I dont understand what you are saying here. I shouldn't need any additional biofiltration. Or are you saying that 4L of biomatrix will out perform 30 gal of bio balls?

that was in referance to the water change 20gpd..... the matrix is better submerged than bio balls and me personally i would use both...

That is damn impressive. But an Arrowana just doesn't fit the equation. When it gets big it will put off massive amounts of waste. In conjunction with 2 large sting rays I think you are asking for trouble....

Has anyone done a step by step on how to set up automatic water changes? I would like to see that DIY thread....
