Non-profit groups still have operating costs...I assume.
Thats what I was thinking also.

Forget about the nay-sayers. If I were in Florida, I'd be more than happy to join you. You can and will make a difference. Good luck!

Very true , plus lets tighten the security on the importers pens and hike fines for people who release non native species into the wild ( and add that money to something like this ).

While I admire you want to be Wyatt Earp and save the world. You're fighting a loosing battle that you'll never ever win.

GL with that.

Well thats called Job security....... Although the majority of what I would be after has already taken root. It could definitely be slowed down and /or controlled. Thats like saying stop messing with all the fdrug trafficers. Thats a losing battle also, but imagine what would happen if it wasn't regualted.

I agree but what are the odds of a game warden being around to be able to catch someone dumping fish into the water?

I assume this would be in south florida? I am in tampa. There are a lot less invasive species here. Biggest problems are tilapia and brazilian pepper.

As for the selling of snakeheads it was more of a joke. Like that could be an underground shhhhhh kind of thing. I don't really know about that and would have to look into the legal aspect of that if it looked promising.

Of course Non- Profits has operating costs. I am not going to pay for the gas and everything out of my own pockets. It is about time that I could use some of my hard earned tax money back in a way that I see fit and have control over the money to make sure it does do some good and not have millions get blown away or "lost"..

"They" would be the US gov. They have I would like to say "we have" hundereds of millions in grants for just about everything you could imagine and a lot of stuff you couldn't... This is not an uncommon thing I am talking about.

Horse of a different color. But ok.

I guess I look at it more as Darwinism. But if you want to hunt invasives so be it.

GTS I am just thinking of South FL becaus ethis is like my home base. I am all over the place, but usually Miami is my home. I guess I shgould say Everglades to generalize everything down around this area. I know they have a lot of issues on your side also. I am just getting sick of reading all this stuff about all the pythons and Monitors. Also I did kind of an experinment with a snakehead and was horrified with what I found. I am not interseted in discussing that at this time, but lets just say it is a little more of a problem in enclosed bodies of water than I had originally thought. I just think something needs to be done. I know there are people out there doing it...just not enough!!

Horse of the different color. Yeah I figured you would say that, but thanks for catching what I was trying to get across. I have just realized some things that I didn't before and I think it is time to do something about it. In someways I think invasive species are kind of cool, but when you have a couple of lakes or ponds that turns into a single species taht gets a little freaky.
