irresponsible pet owners

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This might be thread jacking, switching from kitties to politics. But watch this anyway.
It's a CBC news piece on Canada's century old cruelty laws, and why updates don't go far enough.

Well speak of the devil.... bad pet owners strike again!!! I am in my room fixing a drawing and as I did early.. I hear whimpering... sounds like an animal crying. Well I finally kept hearing and told my mom so we walk out in a pretty bad lighitning storm as its rolling in to find my neghibors not hom and their INSIDE dog in which someone was at the house not that long ago.. left the dog outside in the storm with NO SHELTER and its crying at the door and no one to let it in. We cant do anything b/c it is their property >__< (i peeked over the fence). I feel so bad for the dog b/c its scared to death and its lighting really bad and the only palce it can sit is on the cement in front of the door and there isnt much of an overhang. Stupid people... why would you leave it outside esp. if its an inside dog with it looking overcast like a storm was coming all day.
:iagree:
i had a blonde moment this past saturday woke up at 4:30am got dressed and started goin to work!! luckily i noticed how lite traffic was then looked at my phone 25 min later..
on my way to work i almost hit what looked like a babby raccoon! so i pulled ove to help it across the un busy road so it didn't get hit:screwy:
when i got closer i noticed it was a tiny puppy!! i was bout 3 miles from any house or store. i took it home and some how it got a name so now i have a new puppy!!
his name is cole.

Im going thru a similar thing right now! My friend is a tow truck driver, and sometimes has to reposess cars. Well ofcourse at the end of the day he gets to rummage thru the reposessed cars (if the lean holder has not called back) Guess what he found in the trunk of a late 90's caddilack ? A little pit puppy. Knowing that i have pets, he shows up with it and asks if i want it or he is gonna go to the pound.

Unlike your case, Little "repo" is turning out to be a good pup. He is just a little slow...

Thank god for all the people on mfk keeping these animals from being road kill !!!

:irked:I went outside monday night to take out my garbage and there were 2 cat carriers (with cats in them)
Covered with a blanket. Oh and a big long letter from a kid
This was at 4 am so I have no clue how long they were in there
I was like Ok downstairs bathroom food water and litter box
One is now in my ceiling and the other has bitten/attacked me twice
I carry a plunger with me when i go in to feed and change their litter box
The really annoying thing is is that the parents dropped the cats off,(said so in the letter)
I can't keep them, I have enough pets, and they sometimes don't get along
One has to take prozac so he doesn't pee on my wall:screwy:
I've decided to put him to sleep several times and just can't do it (I've told him he's lucky he has a meow that sounds like a kitten meow, plus he always wants to cuddle. Franklin just has issues, but I brought him home so I'll deal with it)
It's really rotten of these people because I love cats, so now they put it on me to take them to a shelter, rather than do it themselves,
And while I have no clue who they are they knew who I was
Also how sneaky is that?obviously they didn't have the decency/courtesy to talk to me about it
besides the fact one bite was to my hand which could have put me out of work for a couple weeks:nilly:
I've had the rabies pre and post exposure shots so even though the rules here are strict I've got them in for 2 weeks at leat until a spot opens up in the shelter so at least they don't have to be rabies tested
Ok done venting the deed is done and i've got the resources to take care of the problem
If I knew who it was I would reprt them for animal abandonment though just to discourage future episodes

I've seen a similar situation, my BF kinda lives on a small farm... so people dump their animals there all the time! They winded up with 2 new dogs and God Knows how many cats! :(:screwy:

this may sound heartless but the right thing for that woman to do would have been to have to guts to take the dog to be put to sleep
rather than for it to go through all the stress of the pound, being moved and abandoned.
They are smarter and more aware and more expressive than a lot of people give them credit for;
but in a situation like that they have no clue
and old pets do get senile
sadly with the economy we'll probly see more and more abandoned pets
so while spay neutering may be "unnatural" it is much more humane
than say "letting her have alitter so the kids can have the experience":irked:
Jeez even my best pair of angelfish are smart enough to figure out I steal the slate from them once they lay and fertilize eggs
Now they are laying them on the side of the tank
And by best I mean Best
The largest of their fry have very high orange coverage

I'd keep the animal... track his old owner and put HIM to sleep! :D :naughty:

The kitten was gonna be snuck in. yeah that worked well
My new boss said I can take them down to his practice at the very least I gotta neuter the male
And the female bit me AGAIN ON THE LEG TRIED TO TAKE A WHOLE HUNK OUT
usually they wahck at you and nip maybe but I've got 4 fang marks
Thank God I research stuff for years I wanted a lynx
All it took was getting attacked by a really mean cat
I thought hmm 10 pounds can jack me up 40 pounds probly worse so shelved that idea
Now my neighbor was knocking on the door looking for mr katz Hope he finds him
Almost offered him the two in the bathroom but thought it might be politically incorrect at this time Hope he didn't get run over.
Least the ringworm is undr control, but my sister who handled the kitten ONCE 2 weeks ago is covered
which is weird we cultured him and did the wood's light before he came home
plus you shouldn't get it that bad, maybe she was rolling in poison ivy

OMG this is hysterical
a lady I work with's husband is blind she tels him they have 2 cats (8)
I'm sniceker in and sayin um that's kinda wrong
