is a 215 g enough for a silver aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is amazing what aro owners will jam their fish into. Most bettas aren't even subjected to being in containers that are barely twice their own length. Go th the cichlid forum and suggest putting a 15" oscar in a 36" tank and see what happens, yet aro owners are OK with putting a 30" fish in a 72" tank. :duh:

You really just made that comparison? I might agree with the 30" wide footprint but c'mon don't compare fishkeeping to anything that horrible.
it's so funny when ignorant people look right past the analogy and think im saying one is exactly like the other. you obviously could never write or understand the meaning in a song or poem if everything is so black and white for you. when your making an analogy your not saying either is the smae as the other. your pointing out a similarity what i said had nothing to do with fishkeeping or rape i was pointing out that just becuase someone does one thing doesn't make it ok

and there was a typo on my original post i meant 8' x 30" not 6

I always wanted to know, how do you know if your fish is happy or not?
It smiles at you:irked: If its healthy and has room to move around I think its fine. There are plenty of people who jamb a ton of big fish into small tanks around here. If you put an aro and a couple smaller fish in a 200g+ they would be fine for a long time

I saw a 2 foot silver arowana in a 6x2x2 tank. He looked so pissed off. And since they get 4 feet in length.....

If you can't afford the proper tank size, don't get the fish. Nuff said.

min for a aro is 750liters about 200g. you shoild be fine. just remember length and width is more important than height.

So when are you dumping your setup for the upgraded tank? i know someone who wants your setup:naughty:. rattling peoples cages for fun again i see.:grinno:

i may not be an expert on aro's but i have read a little on them and to me it's common sense a 2 foot + fish won't fit in a tank thats only 2 feet wide (after you factor in glass thickness it's a bit less than 2 feet) imo 30" width and 6 foot length would be the absolute minimum

and honestly i don't care what people in asia do, people are raping each other in some third world country dosen't make it okay

.

what in the hell happened to my simple asked question.how did we get to all of this..all i asked was a simple yes or a no.man people just can't keep there thoughts to themselves.this is a legit website with grown ass women /gentlemen helping those who ask for it right?..cause to me i see alot of *****es *****ing issues their going through which i don't believe needs to be heard or known to us out here searching for simple answers and suggestions.
so let me know if i need the tank wider, longer or if the height is enough.be the pro's that we expect you to be.no offense to those who are REALLY helping.thanks to you.so get back on to the answers you all.

My answer to your question is yes. As long as the filteration is good, it all good danny. Just ignore those others, you can do picture search on here and see 90% of them are in 150 gallon or less; and cram with bunch of other fishy. NOt many people can afford big tank like 200+ gall for just one fish....PLEASE!! It a free world, do as you please and afford.

If you've ever seen a full grown silver you would see that your tank would not be enough for a full grown. Seriously, look into jardini arowana's, one could probably be housed for life in your tank.
