Is it a trimac?

Who's to say there's doubt? I don't remember reading anything that Jeff wrote about doubting what he has. Maybe it was just as simple question to get other views?.....

You're probably right, Chris. Jeff is just being a fish anus digger. :)

I have to agree with this. Unfortunatly it's like asking if this is a Midas or Red Devil.

The Tri is for three spots, although not all trimacs have three spots some have more so that means nothing. The fish looks like a female Trimac but it could be a Tri x LG FH or a low grade flower or a Trimac we will just never know. It is a shame it has come to this but that's what Flower Horns have done.

That is silly flowerhorns have done nothing. It is garbage breeders and vendors who suck.

Is that better?

Not really, just not what I would expect a Trimac to look like. But like I said, I'm going from books and personal experience. I'm sure different collections point and selective breeding can change the looks a lot.

I didn't see that they were from Rapps when I scanned the post. I'm guessing he's bred and seen a lot more trimacs then me so he should be able to look at them and have a really good idea if they are pure or not. Your's definately dos not look like what he has pictured on his web sight. I'm guessing those are wild or F1 adults and your might just be a aquarium strain though. Might be pure, might not be. Anyones guess is a good as the next.

Cool looking fish either way.
