Is it a trimac?

I think we've all seen you post links to that thread before Jamie. One batch of trimacs turned out funny in 2008... Oh, I'm really worried.
Let me ask you, since I know your Midas is from Jeff Rapps, do you doubt that he's "pure" as well?
Way to publically trash on probably the most well respected cichlid vendor in the hobby to make yourself look cool on my thread. Class act.
By the way, these trimacs were bred by Rapps himself, in house.

This is funny, so you make up a thread just trying to stir up drama. Then you call someone out acting like they have commited a crime against humanity for just showing that anyone can make a mistake. I've never seen Modest_Man bash Rapps or really any other vendor on here.

Any of the vendors can make mistakes. I've recieved the wrong species or fish of very suspect breeding from several different sellers and vendors on here. One of those shipments was from Rapps. When you deal in the volume of fish that these people do and sell fry at such a small size mistakes can and will happen. it doesn't mean they are trying to rip people off or are bad vendors.

Why did you post this thread and waist peoples time if you are certain what the fish are? Sounds like you posted this trying to make yourself look cool.

variations of trimacs from photos circa 1990s-2000 or so. This would be pre-flowerhorn days.

I like to include the last one here as this photo was taken around 1996 or 7.
Imagine that.

Problem solved. IF Jeff has the parents listed above and bred these fish and you knew this why was this thread even started?

The pictures above show a lot of variation so I guess that shows even more how impossible it is to tell if a trimac is pure from looking at it.

Yeah, that was definitely my intent...if only I could look cool on a fish forum, my life would be complete.

Lots of people make statements about how "If it came from Rapps it must be such and such" instead of actually LOOKING at the fish. I don't care what species. That's the point I was trying to get across. Question everything. After re-reading it it was worded poorly. I'm well aware Rapps bred these trimacs, and again was not insinuating in any way that your fish is not 100% Amphilophus trimaculatus. I believe Rapps provides great fish and is a straight shooter and have done business with him in the past and will do continue to do so in the future.

If you're still a bit upset about me not wanting to text for an hour to get to the point of looking at a fish for you just call me and talk about it instead of this passive aggressive internet stuff.

I think the point of this thread is summed up nicely in your second paragraph. :)
Trimacs have a wide range (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador). Maybe this will shine a little light on an under-appreciated species!

it is NOT impossible.. U guys worry too much.

Jamie, I don't care. You came on my thread. Please go find something else to do... As far as contacting you, it's not that I'm "upset" with you over you giving me attitude when I had always been great to you, it's just that I don't like you very much. Keep the personal stuff off my threads.
