7 and 1/2 maybe... and few at 7" still. I agree a lot of coloration, spotting get lost in picture. In person they look so much more impressive. cool

that is a very generic question all cichla have this trait. but have you put into mind that these guys may also be affeted by water parameters and envoirnment?
anal fin spangling is this species' important characteristic marking... I am
not sure the answer for this either, but if in deed that can be changed by environmental factors... a lot of people will freak OUT........ if kelberi don't turn out to be kelberi.. people can easily argue water parameter is not optimal..... too bad. And if anal fin characteristic disappeared after being put in captivity... that will be another


wtf argument... that definitely apply to other species of cichla.
Hopefully water and environment does not play a significant role here.
