Is it true that leopoldi's are coming in Jan?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
demand increase + supply decrease = price increase

Thats as simple as I can relay Price Theory to you guys..

And I absolutely do not think supply to the US will ever be where it was before the ban, even if the current ban is lifted, no matter what!! Im done with this one

The demand is no were near the same as it was 3 years ago it is much much higher.

But was that demand created because of the ban? After all alot of people bought them up to breed and then sell them at a high cost.

Exactly......., the ban, you could say, contributed to at least 75 percent of the increase in value.... u cant say it had nothing to do with it...., and demand just happened to go up at the same time as the ban......-coincidence-??????? not to sure about that........

the overall demand would still be up from 2 years ago if the ban was lifted..., but not to the extent that it is now...justmy2cents....

That is complete BS. I know plenty of excellent fish keepers that cant afford a $50 fish.

My only problem is...

IF the ban was lifted with the same number of animals that were exported before the ban and the demand is the same ( I assume it is) then why wont the prices go down to what they were before? If the supply is the same and demand are the same as before then the price will be about the same.

Sense when are these rays $50???

Again another example of excellent reading comprehension!

I was merely stating the fact that a high priced fish will not totally deter noobs and allow only experienced keepers keep the fish as many experienced hobbiest can not afford $50 for a fish of any kind.

Partially and partially people who with the advent of the internet were just finding out about black rays and had to have some. The economics from years ago have changed. Before it was get one or two and now it's get a bunch and breed them hope to cash in before they're everywhere. Prices will never be the same.

BTW, I've killed fish way over 50.00.. I love all fish but I don't know one fish keeper who's Monster and never ever killed a fish/or had one die. It's life, it happens.
