People said you could potentially get away with a pup if you were willing to upgrade your tank

Nope, why do you even object to my statement? I was told that pups aren't okay either, i.e.

I don't think your tank is big enough even for a growing pup - and stunting a ray's growth by underfeeding it doesn't sound like the best approach.

So, I'm following the general advice and not getting any Motoros, any dwarf stingrays or any pups. I've certainly lost interest on the subject, and I'm abandoning the stingray to its fate. Not my business after all.

Thanks. I bought a styrofoam block. I used kitchen knives first to hollow out the island. Then I used soldering iron to hew the edges, then applied anti-fungal grout + grout pigment. (the type used in ponds and pools.) I used aquarium-safe silicone to attach the root.
